The official training program for the Oakland Marathon since 2010. Thousands of runners trained — from first-timers to experienced competitors. We’ll get you ready for the March 2027 race, or any spring race of your choosing.

Both programs run concurrently, sharing Saturday group runs, coaches, and community. Choose the distance that matches your goal race.

Marathon Training

Is This Program Right for You?

Important — please read before registering

This is not a “couch to finish line” program. Both programs begin with long runs of 6+ miles. Marathon trainees should be running 20+ miles/week and half marathon trainees at least 12 miles/week when the program begins. Participants must be at least 15 years of age.
